Stanford Alzheimer's Alliance

I co-founded Stanford Alzheimer's Alliance in Spring 2018 after I learned about the extreme social disengagement that can result when an individual is living with dementia

The goal of our organization is to pair Stanford undergraduates with residents who are diagnosed with dementia at Webster House Health Center (WHHC) in Palo Alto, California. Through weekly visits, we strive to build meaningful interactions with our "companions" and counter the social isolation that they may often experience. Additionally, we aim to promote awareness of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions.

In its two years, Stanford Alzheimer's Alliance has become a Cardinal Commitment for the Haas Center for Public Service and a recipient of the Haas Social Impact Grant, which supports student-driven initiatives that address social issues. Additionally, I received the Roland Longevity Fellowship from the Stanford Center for Longevity to expand my volunteer efforts at WHHC in Summer 2019.
