Stanford's Pacific Free Clinic (PFC) provides free, transitional healthcare to individuals who are uninsured or do not have financial access to quality healthcare.

 

Throughout my freshman and sophomore years, I served as a Spanish interpreter at the clinic. In this capacity, while facilitating communication between patients and providers, I gained shadowing experience and understanding of clinic flow.

 

Since my junior year, I have been serving as a pre-clinician. I conduct interviews with patients, note down their medical history, and advocate patient needs and concerns to physicians. Additionally, I am now on PFC's Quality Improvement Team and have been working to develop a Patient Satisfaction Survey to be administered at the clinic.
